Living a Fantastic Life With Dogs in My 50 Golden Years -- A Book Filled With Memories of a Life Spent With Golden Retrievers

QUECHEE, Vt., June 9, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mankind has had dogs of all sizes and shapes that protect them in many ways. Some dogs work for us while some help us overcome disability. The one thing that every dog has in common is the love it provides to its owners and keepers. A new book authored by Dr. Jack G. Butz offers readers a collection of memories and events that highlight his fifty years of love with his golden retrievers. A fascinating look back begins with the release of My 50 Golden Years.

Fresh out of dentistry school at the University of Pennsylvania, the author and his wife decided to move to Vermont to start a fresh life. The U.S. Air Force assigned them to a small Air Base in the state. Soon, they fell in love with the place. There, he treated his first patient, had their first child, John, and had their first Golden retriever. Little did they know that it was the start of their fifty-year-long affair with gorgeous creatures of the four footed variety.

As the children continued to develop along with their Golden friends, it was not long before they shared love and happiness with a canine family member. They would then go on to have a new Golden or more every eight to ten years much to everyone's pleasure. Each new golden addition proved to be entertaining and was a very important element in the development of all the children. As the children grew and went their own ways, the dogs stayed to continue the love that made their home complete.

My 50 Golden Years will be featured at this year's New England Library Association regional book exhibit which will be held at Connecticut Convention Center, Hartford CT On October 18-20, 2009.
