San Juan Pools Helps Out Disabled Vets

LAKELAND, Fla., Feb. 14, 2007 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For the second time, San Juan Fiberglass Pools is stepping up to help a disabled vet. The altruistic company will build a therapy swimming pool and spa with all the bells and whistles at no cost to Steve Natow of Kissimmee, Florida. He is getting a brand new pool built just for him by San Juan Pools to the tune of $45,000. A disabled veteran of two wars, Vietnam and Iraq, Steven needs intensive therapy to aid in his recovery.

"It is a good project for a good cause, helping out disabled vets," said San Juan Pools spokesman Keith Van Tilburg. The plan will take place during San Juan Pools National convention and Seminars February 23 and 24, 2007. Here San Juan and its international dealers will convene together to build the therapy swimming pool to help the wounded vet in his daily recovery from a broken hip and knee injuries.

Working together with San Juan, Aquamatic Pool Covers will provide a free automatic pool cover for safety and the pool will also feature Fast Lane by Endless Pools, a current style swimming System. AquaCal, and Pentair are also contributors.

The project initiated by San Juan Pools, a half-century old company, has all the earmarks of a national movement to raise awareness of America's wounded vets. The first time San Juan came to the aid of a disabled veteran was when the company built The Peter Reid Project in 2005 for Peter Reid, a Navel Seabee, who was severely injured in the Iraq war. In his honor, San Juan Pools named its team of workers "THE SAN JUAN SEE BEES" and will keep this title permanently for future such projects.

San Juan Pools company owner Kirk Sullivan said, "An unyielding commitment to quality has been San Juan's stock in trade ever since we produced our first fiberglass pool back in 1958. As a matter of fact, our first pool is still in use, looking as good today as the day it left the factory. It's a monument to the enduring quality of our product. Now we want to lead the charge for sharing that commitment to quality to our disabled vets," said Kirk Sullivan, president of Lakeland, Florida-based San Juan Products. "San Juan Pools recognizes these men's unselfish dedication and sacrifice to our country and for allowing us the honor of giving just a little back."
