Author Expresses Injustice Experienced in the Judicial Branch -- New Book Documents a True Story That Exposes a Fraudulent Practice of Law

CARBONDALE, Kan., Nov. 18, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With the wrongful death of her ex-husband Wei Wu, author Li Yu was inspired to write a book that points to a relevant issue that concerns every citizen in America. Released through Xlibris, her new book The Tenth Appeal documents how her investigation of Dr. Wei Wu's unfortunate death turned into a series of discriminative incidents and an alarming discovery of the "fraudulent practice of law."

The highest level of the federal government in America consists of three branches: legislative, judicial, and executive. According to Yu, the judicial branch, with its power, does not listen to the people. "Typically, the U.S. Supreme Court refuses to hear 99% of the public petitions." Through detailed discussion, Yu unveils how she became a victim of inequality when she attempted to seek justice through American court system for the wrongful death of her ex-husband. Declined access to medical records to pacify her doubts, the author went through the American court system for several years. Her last case was against the State of Texas for American people's "Freedom of Speech" over legal matters, and the state government's unconstitutional removal of her ex-husband's cornea without consent. According to her, she was entitled to default judgment due to Texas Governor Rick Perry's negligence to appear by the due date. She did not get it because of the malfunctions of the system. From Texas state court to the federal court, from trial court to the U.S. Supreme Court, she carried out nine appeals to explore the possibility of equal justice under law in a nation of law. In every step of the legal process, the author experienced discrimination from the system for not being a lawyer.

"The conclusions are clear and ugly: American lawyers are engaged in 'fraudulent practice of law,' and the American court system is corruptive and destructive, corruptive to richen its legal community and destructive to impede public justice," Yu says. An eye-opening account based on a true story, The Tenth Appeal summarizes thirteen malfunctions of American court system. It is written to convey that America needs a big change and legal reform to remove the malfunctions from the judicial branch and redirect lawyers to work for public justice.
