SARS-CoV-2 Orf9b requires a distinct conformation for Tom70 binding. Video begins with Orf9b in the dimer state (PDB:6Z4U) with lipid in yellow, one monomer in blue and the other in orange. The region identified in the new structure here is then isolated (orange) and changes structure to that found in complex with human Tom70. Finally Tom70 (teal) appears first as a ribbon and then a surface model. Structure was determined by the QBI Coronavirus Research Group Structural Biology Consortium (QCRG SBC).
