JAPAN HOUSE Shop | BONMAX Edo-Inspired Apparel Pop-Up

As a stylish complement to the final weeks of the NEO-JAPONISM exhibition at JAPAN HOUSE LA (on view through September 1, 2025), the WAZA Shop presents a special pop-up showcasing a bold fusion of Edo-period art and contemporary fashion. Japanese design label BONMAX reimagines the legacy of two iconic Edo-era figures—ukiyo-e master Katsushika Hokusai, famed for The Great Wave, and influential publisher Tsutaya Jūzaburō. Using its proprietary printing technique, BONMAX creates a striking embroidery-like effect with raised white ink beneath each design, bringing intricate historical motifs to life on modern apparel.
