The pegmatoidal, course-grained, pyroxene-rich gabbroic rocks have a high magnesium, sanukitoid character which is an important signature for many base metal - PGM mineral deposits in Archean rocks of the Superior Craton in the Canadian Shield in northern and western Ontario.
