Gold mineralization occurs in the Windfall fault zone at the contact between the Dunderberg Formation and Hamburg Formation. This fault zone extends for more than 3.2 km (2 mi) north-south. Higher grade gold intersections occur where NE-trending faults (shown as dashed lines) intersect the Windfall fault zone. Post-mineral volcanic rocks and alluvium cover portions of the mineralized zone.
