Odfjell vessel involved in an incident


200 mt of Ethyl Acetate has been lost to the sea. Ethyl Acetate is classed as marine pollution category D (the category with the lowest pollution). No personnel onboard the vessel has been injured and the vessel is fully operational.
 
The contingency group of Odfjell has been mobilised and all involved parties/authorities have been notified. We are currently establishing the extend of the damage and how best to avoid any further pollution.
 
BOW EAGLE is a 24,728 dwt chemical tanker built in Spain in 1988.  The vessel is registered in the Norwegian International Ship registry (NIS) and is classed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV).  BOW EAGLE has Norwegian officers and Filipino crew onboard.  Odfjell ASA in Bergen, Norway manages the vessel commercially and technically. The vessel was en route from Brazil to Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
