WHAT: The ALS Association (ALSA) honors Michael J. Madigan,
speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives,
for sponsoring legislation that appropriates $1 million
to fund vital research into the causes of
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, known as Lou Gehrig's
disease. Madigan will receive the honors at a
reception during the meeting of ALSA's
National Board of Trustees.
