The CHF 19.1 million increase in sales was achieved thanks to efficient processing of the healthy order portfolio from the last business year and on-time deliveries in all three segments.
In the Fineblanking/Forming segment, the press business grew faster than expected. The Automation segment, which comprises the three business units Automation Systems, Automation Components and Riveting Systems, has also had a successful first quarter. The Plastic/Metal Components segment increased its sales on the same period last year too.
Order intake in the first three months of the financial year was also up on the year-back period. However, high steel prices and the sliding dollar will remain major challenges in the current financial year.
