Feintool has been active in Japan since 1973, initially with a sales and service branch, but also, for the past twenty years, with a Technology Center and parts production facility at Atsugi near Tokyo. By systematically gearing its operations to the needs of the Japanese automotive industry, Feintool Japan has been very successful in recent years and capacity utilization has been high.
Technology services and systems made in Japan
Feintool has opened a second Technology Center for fineblanking/forming in Tokoname, a city with good port and airport access in Nagoya region, a fast-growing centre of automobile production. With Group Management in attendance, Feintool was able to demonstrate its enhanced commitment to technology, customer and spare parts services to its Japanese customers.
At the same time, a new and highly promising Feintool fineblanking press that is constructed entirely in Japan and is adapted to the special needs of the local market was rolled out. The launch of the Feintool HFJ twintec is benefiting from the global technology and market leader's excellent image.
In the course of this year the Tokoname facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art fineblanking/forming systems for the production of high-precision multifunctional parts for the Japanese, Korean and Chinese markets.
Strategic presence in Asia strengthened operationally
As part of the strategic expansion of Feintool's global platform into Asia, the company has now strengthened operations in three key countries.
Feintool has had its own sales and service branches for the systems business in various Chinese industrial centres for decades now.
The Group commenced production of plastic/metal composite parts in Lamphun, Thailand, last year.
With the two Technology Centers and manufacturing facilities in Atsugi and Tokoname, capacities in fineblanking/forming have been significantly expanded.
As a result, the Feintool Group in Asia is even better positioned to be a global solutions provider to the needs of its globally operating key customers and to participate successfully in the rapid growth of automobile production in Asia now and in the future.
