KEMIRA GROUP STRENGTHENING ORGANIZATION


 
Lauri Junnila, M.Sc. (Eng.), eMBA, has been appointed President, Kemira Pulp and Paper Chemicals business area, and Executive Vice President, member of Kemira's management board as of 1 October 2005. He will join Kemira from his current position as Senior Vice President, Strategy & Finance in Metsä-Botnia. He has been member of Metsä-Botnia's management group also. Prior to his current position Lauri Junnila has held several demanding positions relating to sales, production and business responsibilities in Metsä-Botnia and M-Real. He has extensive international experience in the pulp and paper and board industry. Lauri Junnila will report to CEO Lasse Kurkilahti.
 
Juhani Lindholm, M.Sc. (Eng.), will transfer from his current position as President, Pulp and Paper Chemicals, to Kemira Group Management as of 1 October 2005. In his new position as Senior Vice President, Business Development in the M&A team, which is responsible for preparation and execution of M&A transactions Juhani Lindholm will report to Esa Tirkkonen, deputy to CEO.
 
Jukka Hakkila, LL.M., has been appointed Group General Counsel, Executive Vice President, Kemira Group Legal Affairs and member of the Group management board as of 1 October 2005. He will also assume the duties of secretary to Kemira Oyj's Board of directors, Supervisory board and Management board. He will move to Kemira from his current position as Senior Vice President, Legal affairs with Elcoteq. His earlier positions have been international legal and financial responsibilities with Suomen Vientiluotto, Leonia Group and Sampo Pankki in Finland and the US. Jukka Hakkila will report to CEO Lasse Kurkilahti.
 
Kemira's Group General Counsel Sami Koski, LL. M. will continue his work with Group legal affairs as deputy to Group General Counsel, Vice President, Kemira Group Legal Affairs. He will report to Jukka Hakkila. 
 
Lennart Albertsson, M.Sc. (Econ.) has been appointed deputy to president for Business area Kemwater. The appointment will be effective as of 7 September 2005. Lennart Albertsson will assume responsibility for the Kemwater business area until the successor to Lennart Johansson has been appointed. Lennart Johansson will join the Swedish industrial group Trelleborg AB as of 1 November 2005. Albertsson will continue in his duties as Vice President and controller of the Kemwater business area.
 
Ingvar Pettersson, has been appointed managing director, Kemira Kemi AB, to succeed Lennart Johansson in these duties. Ingvar Pettersson's current duties as site manager of the Helsingborg site were preceded by various executive duties in Kemira in Sweden and the Netherlands. Ingvar Pettersson reports to Kemira Kemi AB's board of directors and to the president of Kemwater business area. The appointment will be effective as of 7 September 2005.
