Fortis appoints Adrian Martorana as General Manager Communications


Adrian Martorana (47) has held various positions in communications in the past. He has strong Global as well as European Marketing and Communication expertise gained via a number of blue chip brands such as Jaguar, Duracell, Citibank and Visa.
 
His most recent experience is with Visa as Head of Marketing Strategy & Communications. In this role he was responsible for rolling-out the new Brand Architecture across CEMEA (Central Europe, Middle East and Africa), developing new advertising to support the Winter Olympics sponsorship as well as introducing a new marketing planning process.
 
Prior to VISA, Adrian was with Citibank as EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Marketing Director based in London and responsible for developing brand marketing plans and programmes including the introduction of a new brand positioning and communication support.
 
Adrian joined Citibank from Duracell where he spent 15 years building the Duracell brand in a local, regional and ultimately global capacity as Head of Global Brand Development.
 
Adrian, who holds Italian and British nationalites, is married with 2 children and has lived in Italy, France, Germany, USA and the UK.
 
At Fortis, he will succeed Eric Bouwmeester, who has taken up the new position of General Manager Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
