ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Dekolink Wireless, Inc. today announced the general release of its UHF digital channel selective repeater for use in large in-building, tunnel and outdoor signal coverage applications. This extremely flexible solution has been installed and tested in live systems of the New York City Transit system.
"We are seeing a tremendous interest for advanced coverage solutions for public safety and SMR in the UHF band," says Rami Hasarchi, CEO of Dekolink Wireless. "Having already developed and deployed a unique UHF solution for one of the most challenging underground transportation systems in the US, we're excited to now extend this field-proven, mil-spec solution not only to our prospects in the Americas regions, but also throughout the rest of the world where TETRA technology is more prolific," Mr. Hasarchi continues.
The Deko4304D Digital Channel Selective Repeater offers industry-leading performance characteristics including Dekolink's patented DSP (digital signal processing) based filtering technology, which enables software-controlled programming of up to 12 independent digital filters -- supporting up to 160 channels in the UHF band.
By amplifying only the frequencies of the licensee's network, Dekolink's customers will avoid the "pollution" and interference that today degrades both the network performance and its neighboring networks performance in the crowded UHF band. Dekolink's digital filters are sharper than today's analog filters and provide better rejection of adjacent frequencies. In addition, digital filters can be programmed and re-programmed, to achieve the right trade-off between rejection and delay to fit the specific customers' requirements.
The Deko4304D is remote or field-tunable from 12.5 kHz up to 200 kHz per filter and offers future-proof migration to APCO P25 and UHF band refarming. The UHF repeater also provides 20 Watts composite RF output power with 130 dB gain to provide coverage up to 250,000 square feet. With additional boosters the system coverage can be extended significantly to cover any size building or complex.
"Our 800MHz version of this product has been very successful and since its introduction our customers have been keenly interested in a UHF version of this technology, so this is very exciting for both us and our customers," says Ken Monro, President of Dekolink Americas. "Based on our advanced filtering and oscillation suppression technologies that we have developed, we feel like we are truly delivering solutions not previously available to the market," Monro continues.
The Deko4304D is generally available.
Dekolink Wireless will be showcasing the Deko4304D UHF solution, 800 MHz and 900 MHz portfolio at the APCO show in Orlando, booth #1283, August 7-10, 2006.
