Cleco Power Names Vice President of Regulatory, Resource Planning Group

PINEVILLE, LA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 14, 2007 -- Cleco Corp. (NYSE: CNL) has named Keith Crump vice president of regulatory, retail operations, and resource planning for Cleco Power LLC, its regulated utility business.

Crump, 45, will manage the resource planning, retail operations and regulatory groups. He had served as treasurer of Cleco Corp. since May 2005. Kathleen Nolen, senior vice president and chief financial officer, will assume the additional role of treasurer until a replacement for Crump is named.

Prior to becoming treasurer, Crump served as manager of forecasting, analytics and budgeting from December 2004 to May 2005 and manager of forecasting and analytics from October 2002 to December 2004. Crump has worked at Cleco for 17 years.

"In Keith's new role, he will provide increased oversight and coordination of the next long-term request for power proposals as well as a continued focus on long-term resource planning," Cleco Power President and COO Dilek Samil said.

Cleco Power is currently evaluating internal options to meet additional long-term energy and capacity needs. It currently intends to issue a draft request for proposals in the second quarter and anticipates completing the selection process in 2008.
