Intelligent InSites and Sonitor Technologies Announce Strategic Alliance for Real-Time Location Technology
Companies Sign Co-Marketing Agreement
| Quelle: Sonitor Technologies, Inc.
BISMARCK, ND and LARGO, FL--(Marketwire - June 21, 2007) - Intelligent InSites, Inc. and
Sonitor Technologies, Inc. today announced a strategic alliance to market
their combined real-time location solution to healthcare organizations.
Under the agreement, Sonitor's ultrasound-based indoor positioning system
(IPS) will become a preferred technology for providing accurate and
reliable room-level location information to Intelligent InSites' integrated
real-time location, communication, and workflow software used to track
patients and assets. The companies will coordinate sales and marketing
efforts for their integrated system to a variety of healthcare
organizations, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing,
and assisted living facilities.
"Sonitor's precision in providing room or sub-room-level location data
along with the scalability of the technology provides an excellent
complement to our desktop and PDA applications. Together, we provide
healthcare workers the information they need in real-time at the point of
care," said Mark Rheault, President and CEO of Intelligent InSites. "The
strategic agreement with Sonitor provides an enhanced level of capability
to our solution, combining Sonitor's innovative location-sensing hardware
with Intelligent InSites' handheld PDAs and hosted software applications
that integrate with the customer's existing systems."
"The integration of Intelligent InSites' communication and workflow
solutions for the healthcare market with Sonitor's highly accurate indoor
positioning technology provides a compelling offering that delivers
significant improvements in organizational efficiency, patient safety, and
provider effectiveness," said Terry Aasen, CEO of Sonitor Technologies,
Inc. "The ability to quickly, accurately and reliably locate moveable
medical equipment, patients or staff is one of the major issues facing
healthcare facilities today. The alliance with Intelligent InSites allows
Sonitor to expand into enterprise-wide healthcare markets with a proven and
meaningful solution for medical facilities."
The Sonitor indoor positioning system (IPS) uses detectors and tags that
are linked through the existing wired or wireless local area network (LAN)
to a digital file containing all vital statistics and information about the
item or person being monitored. The motion activated tag transmits a
unique identification signal using ultrasound waves to special detectors
that use Sonitor patented ultrasound signal Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
algorithms. The detectors transmit signals via an existing LAN to a
central computer that stores the information about the tag's room-location
and the time of receipt of the signal. Sonitor's ultrasound technology
ensures that detectors interpret tag signals without risk of interference
from any environmental noise or other signals, nor interfere with sensitive
instruments. The system is designed for safety and all emitted sound
pressure levels are within the international regulations for the safe use
of ultrasound.
Intelligent InSites markets a suite of real-time location, communication,
and workflow software tailored for each specific healthcare environment,
