Intelligent Decisions to Provide CREDANT Technologies' Data-at-Rest Encryption Solutions Under the GSA SmartBUY Program and DoD Enterprise Software Initiative
Team Solution Protects Federal Mobile Data; Provides Audit Trail to Security and Compliance With OMB Mandates
| Quelle: CREDANT Technologies
ASHBURN, VA, and DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - June 21, 2007) - Intelligent Decisions, Inc., a
leading provider of IT hardware, software, manufacturing, and service
solutions to the Federal government and Fortune 1000 customers, and CREDANT
Technologies, a leading provider of mobile data protection solutions, today
announced that Intelligent Decisions has secured a blanket purchase
agreement (BPA) to provide CREDANT's data-at-rest (DAR) encryption
solutions under the U.S. Department of Defense Enterprise Software
Initiative (DoD-ESI) and U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA)
Federal SmartBUY program.
The SmartBUY program supports effective enterprise-level software
management through the aggregate buying of commercial software
government-wide. The SmartBUY BPA award to Intelligent Decisions and
CREDANT Technologies announced today is the culmination of the GSA-DoD
partnership to carry out OMB and DoD policy directives (OMB-M-06-16, June
23, 2006; DoD Policy Memorandum, August 18, 2006). These directives
instruct agencies to adopt measures and select DAR encryption products to
protect personally identifiable information stored on laptop computers,
desktop computers, tablet PCs, smart phones, personal digital assistants,
and removable storage devices.
All Federal civilian agencies and DoD departments, as well as state and
local governments, can purchase DAR encryption solutions and services under
the Intelligent Decisions BPA. Although the focus is on acquisition of
products and maintenance, agencies will also be able to acquire
professional services in support of product selection, evaluation, and
deployment efforts.
"Intelligent Decisions has served as a trusted advisor to the Federal
government on the evaluation, deployment, and integration of cyber security
solutions for more than 15 years, and numerous Federal customers have
already selected CREDANT as their provider of choice for securing
data-at-rest," said Intelligent Decisions' President and Chief Executive
Officer, Harry Martin, Jr. "Today's award significantly strengthens our
ability to help government organizations comply with OMB and DoD directives
to protect personally identifiable information while integrating
state-of-the-art IT solutions with services to address the growing threats
to Federal data assets."
CREDANT's mobile data protection solutions secure laptops, desktops, smart
phones, PDAs, and external media from a single management interface. By
uniquely integrating with enterprise directories for centralized security
policy management, the CREDANT's Intelligent Encryption-based approach uses
"policy-based encryption" technology to ensure that data that must be
encrypted is encrypted wherever it is stored, and what does not need to be
encrypted -- the operating system, applications, and empty space -- is not.
This approach also protects against the internal and external threat of a
data breach, dramatically reduces management complexity, and provides an
extensive audit trail for compliance reporting.
"Ensuring the security and integrity of sensitive government data is
essential to helping agencies meet their mission-critical requirements,"
said Bob Heard, founder and chief executive officer of CREDANT. "We look
forward to working with Intelligent Decisions and Federal agencies to
deliver easy-to-deploy, transparent, centrally managed encryption solutions
that meet OMB mandates and help agencies ensure mobile data security."
