WHAT: The 22nd Annual "Par Fore Kids" Golf Classic, a golf
tournament hosted by FOCAS, is an exciting full-day
fundraising event that will benefit the abused, neglected
and emotionally troubled children Canyon Acres serves.
Chaired by Erin Lastinger, the event will include 18 holes
of golf, a hole-in-one contest, breakfast, lunch and dinner
appetizers -- as well as an awards show, auctions,
opportunity prizes and tournament contests.
Event sponsors include The Kent H. Landsberg Co. (Platinum),
KOCE (Gold), Wilson Automotive Group (Gold), the A. Gary
Anderson Family Foundation (Silver) and Wells Fargo
(Silver).
WHO: Founded in 1983 as an auxiliary group to support Canyon
Acres, the Friends of Canyon Acres (FOCAS) raises funds and
community awareness for Canyon Acres and the children and
families it serves.
Canyon Acres Children and Family Services is the only
facility in Orange County or the surrounding counties
serving the most severely abused and emotionally troubled
children between the ages of 6-17. Since 1980, Canyon Acres
has been providing the highest level of care, therapeutic
treatment and most importantly a home, to children throughout
Southern California who suffer from a variety of emotional
and psychological disorders. Canyon Acres gives children
nurturing, treatment, and opportunities that they need to
grow up in safe, loving, and stable families.
