RENO, Nev., July 31, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- An intriguing tale of murder and corruption set in a fantasy world is scheduled to begin as Xlibris, a leading print-on-demand online book self-publishing company, announces the release of The Puppet Master's Daughter, the compelling new book featuring the imagination of author Helen L. DiNapoli.
The story begins when Inspector Sandoval Carmichael, a white wizard of the Royal Bureau of Investigation, receives orders to look into the murder of an itinerant puppet master and the disappearance of the man's beautiful daughter. Solving the case not only means clearing his accused assistant, Hoagy Toogood, but waging a war of nerves, guile and some pretty deadly fireworks with an unscrupulous baron and his more powerful gold wizard. Weaving through the social and political maze of Pacifica, Sandoval needs to call upon his dwarf and human friends, his limited power, and his own genius for deception to solve this case. Will he be able to succeed? Only time can tell.
The Puppet Master's Daughter is an intriguing and entertaining mystery caper that will keep readers guessing what will happen next until the very end. Its portrayal of magic adds depth to the mystery element of the novel, which provides the reader a fresh experience of entertainment. Deep from the core however, is the underlying theme that touches upon man's greed for power, the corruption of magic and the bigotry fed by fear and ignorance. About the Author
Ms DiNapoli began her writing career at thirteen with the creation of a little handwritten book put together with construction paper covers tied with yarn; a mystery, naturally. Even after raising a family and joining the daily work force, she couldn't escaped that insistent itch to write; whether scribbling poetry, short stories, an early novel (now lost to time) or writing skits for regional Gas Light Follies fund-raisers. As a member of a local screenwriting group, she placed 2nd in the 1990 Nevada State Screenwriters Contest. Helen L. DiNapoli lives in Reno, Nevada, surrounded by family, friends and two cats.
