Today the financial services company Exista hf. published its interim financial
statements for the first nine months of 2007.
Primary results from the interim financial statements for the period January -
September 2007:
After-tax profit EUR 869.5 million
Earnings per share 7.69 cents
Annualised return on equity 45.9%
Operating Businesses yielded a profit of EUR 186 million after taxes
Investment Businesses yielded a profit of EUR 684 million after taxes
Total assets EUR 8.5 billion at the end of September, up 93% from the beginning
of the year
Total equity EUR 2.7 billion at the end of September, up 43% from the beginning
of the year
Equity ratio 32.1% at the end of September
Performance in the third quarter:
After-tax profit EUR 7.4 million
Earnings per share 0.07 cents
Two major international funding transactions completed in the quarter

“Exista delivered a strong performance in the first nine months, recording EUR
870 million in net earnings. Adverse developments in financial markets made
some impact on the third-quarter accounts; however, the Group's results in the
quarter were positive despite a slump in the global capital markets. This
reflects increased diversification in Exista's income sources and underlines
the overall financial strength of the Group.”
