In July, iPass announced its innovative Mobility Management offering that
combined iPass global access, connection management and device management
capabilities into a single solution, all available to companies at a flat
monthly rate.
As defined by IDC, the Mobile Device Management Enterprise software
provides standard features found in all desktop administration solutions,
such as maintaining PC hardware and software inventories, performing
software distribution, managing antivirus scan files and enabling remote
control for systems diagnostics. In addition, MDM Enterprise solutions also
include advanced functions that address the needs of mobile and wireless
users, such as mobile security, support for offline and over-the-air
wireless synchronization, and back up and recovery capabilities(1).
