Gas Price Records Continue for Memorial Day Weekend

ALBUQUERQUE, NM--(Marketwire - May 23, 2008) - New Mexico's gasoline price average has risen 8.1 cents in the last week, and the national average is up 8.8 cents during the same period, according to the AAA New Mexico Weekend Gas Watch.

The New Mexico average for regular unleaded gasoline of $3.824 is 8.1 cents more than last week and 41 cents more than last year. The national average of $3.875 is 8.8 cents more than last week and 64.8 cents more than last year.

New Mexico has the twenty-eighth highest gas price average in the nation. Arizona has the lowest statewide average of $3.683 per gallon, while Alaska ranks the highest average of $4.181 per gallon. Seven state averages have topped the four dollar mark.
