AkzoNobel has today published its landmark 2008 Report online - which is a milestone as it is the first time the company has combined its annual and sustainability reports into a single publication. The printed version will be available from March 18.
Entitled Delivering Tomorrow's Answers Today, the 2008 Report gives full details of the company's financial and sustainability performance, as well as highlighting AkzoNobel's ongoing efforts in the field of product innovation.
"With sustainability very much embedded in our organization - and an inherent part of the way we operate and develop our growing portfolio of eco-premium products - it seemed only natural to report on our sustainability and financial performance in an integrated way," explained AkzoNobel CEO Hans Wijers.
"Combining the two reports into one publication also underlines how seriously we take our commitment to sustainable operations, highlighted by the company again being ranked as one of the leading performers on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) for 2008."
Wijers added that, for the first time ever, the company's position on the influential DJSI listing will have an impact on the long-term incentives for the company's Board of Management and other senior executives. Subject to shareholder approval, the proposed amendment to the Remuneration Policy will involve the company's annual ranking being used as one of the factors which determines the number of shares granted as part of AkzoNobel's performance share plan.
Visitors to www.akzonobel.com/report will discover that the 2008 Report is not only accessible as a downloadable pdf. A dedicated interactive website has also been created which makes full use of advanced internet technology to enable quick and easy access to all the data, statistics and editorial content.
Extra functionality is also available, such as viewing customizable graphs and downloading financial information in Excel format, while navigation through the various chapters has been made as effortless as possible.
As well as increasing efficiency and improving AkzoNobel's environmental footprint, combining the two reports also means that a wealth of important company information is now available in a single document.
