SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - March 30, 2009) - Sonoa Systems, Inc., an innovative
provider of analytics, management, and governance solutions for cloud
services and APIs, today announced that MTV Networks (MTVN) has selected
Sonoa to optimize its online and mobile content distribution solution.
Sonoa's ServiceNet
will provide MTVN with increased reliability, control and visibility as
they expand the delivery of video feeds and open their APIs to partners and
consumers in the cloud.
MTVN is deploying Sonoa's
cloud-based service to give their online syndication partners an
automated platform for reliably consuming and deploying the company's
content feeds. Additionally, Sonoa's analytics will provide operational
and business level visibility that enables MTVN to better understand the
performance and usage patterns of each syndication feed, which allows them
to more rigorously support SLAs and provide the level of service
appropriate for each partner.
"Sonoa's unique technology and approach guarantees our partners -- and
ultimately our consumers -- better service and satisfaction, reduces our
operational costs and provides a platform for further innovations as we
continue to open our feeds and APIs using the cloud," said Andrew Toy, vice
president, mobile and syndication technology at MTVN.
"Increasingly, customers are looking to govern interactions with business
partners via the cloud," said Frank Kenney, research director for
applications strategy and governance at Gartner. "Media
distribution companies -- whose business models are dependent on their
ability to distribute a wide variety of content to a community of
consumers, partners and end users -- are examples of how the cloud is
being leveraged, how distribution models are becoming more innovative and
how cloud brokerages are critical to the acceptance (and ultimately the
success) of both."
"As more companies look to create new business models via cloud services,
solving the common challenges faced when exposing services, feeds and APIs
becomes critical to their success," said Chet Kapoor, CEO of Sonoa Systems.
"Our solution solves these issues by delivering a layer of security,
control, performance and visibility in the cloud that results in better
performance and substantially lower operational costs. MTVN is definitely
ahead of the curve -- their innovation is truly a great example of how both
traditional enterprises as well as Web-centric companies can use cloud
services to better serve and reach their partners and customers."
