ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, April 14, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Adfortel, a Payter Holding company, today announced the release of a new version of its mobile advertising solution, VoiceAds Engine Version 2.0. Adfortel holds a national patent on the technology, and an international patent is pending. The first version of its VoiceAds Engine offered operators and advertisers a unique audio based and handset independent mobile advertising channel. Version 2.0 greatly expands the reach of VoiceAds by also targeting incoming calls.
VoiceAds are audio commercials played instead of a ringback tone during the waiting period for connecting a call. Varying per country, an average of 15 seconds of currently unused call waiting time can be used as advertising airtime. This airtime offers multiple daily direct contact moments and massive guaranteed reach for advertisers, with the possibility to target on profiles and offer opt-in incentives to subscribers to the service.
Ringback tone services initially started the concept of replacing the traditional ringback tone during the call waiting period with music clips. The limited success of ringback tone services in general triggered Adfortel to develop the mobile advertising solution VoiceAds Engine. The next milestone on Adfortel's roadmap was the development of version 2.0, which now allows highly targeted audio commercials on incoming calls to existing ringback tones and VoiceAd subscribers in addition to outgoing calls.
This new feature effectively multiplies the inventory for advertising purposes. In addition, there is the operator benefit of being able to reuse existing ringback tone platforms and network infrastructure to support their transformation into VoiceAd Engines. Traditional ringback tone service features are offered as a low cost or even complimentary service to operators as part of the VoiceAd Engine 2.0 release.
Igor Hendriksen, Adfortel's managing director: "Adfortel's solution is a very attractive offering for operators who want to continue to grow market share by unlocking new revenue streams. The solution's architecture and capabilities allow for a speedy and cost-effective deployment with fast return on investment. The new version of VoiceAds is interesting for operators with poor ringback tone results and operators that are considering both ringback tone services and mobile audio advertising for their roadmaps."
Adfortel showcased its VoiceAds Engine during the latest edition of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, co-exhibiting with its technology partner Dialogic, and is currently in talks with various operators, advertising agencies, network vendors and system integrators worldwide to introduce the concept on a commercial scale.
