New CEO

The Supervisory Board of Nordic Tankers has appointed Jens Pontoppidan as new
CEO in replacement of Flemming K. Sørensen, who will resume his position as
Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Jens Pontoppidan, 34, has extensive experience from the shipping industry and
the product tanker market after 12 years of employment with the shipping line
TORM, where he served as General Manager of the Tokyo office from 2003 to 2006.
Later, he became responsible for the establishment and operation of the
derivatives trading department of TORM's Tankers division. In the last few
years, Jens Pontoppidan has operated his own investment business, specialising
in shipping derivatives.

”We have received applications from many wellqualified candidates. This
indicates that Nordic Tankers is considered a serious Danish shipping company
with an exciting future ahead of it. With Jens Pontoppidan's considerable
experience from the product tanker market, we are positive that he can add
great value to Nordic Tankers and our shareholders and that he is the right
person to implement our new strategy, Rebound 2012,” says Chairman of the
Supervisory Board Klaus Kjærulff.

Jens Pontoppidan takes up the position on 1 May 2009.

”This is a great step for me in my professional career. Nordic Tankers is a
very interesting shipping company with many great opportunities in an exciting
time, and I look forward to executing the company's new strategy,” says Jens
Pontoppidan.
