Sectra launches next-generation mammography workstation designed for high
production

At RSNA 2009, Sectra launches a new breast imaging PACS workstation built on
Sectra RapidConnect™ technology. With this next-generation mammography
workstation, Sectra focuses on customer productivity and wide area radiology.

In 2003, Sectra was the first vendor to provide a multi-modality workstation
tailor-made for high-performance screening. At RSNA 2009, the company introduces
an entirely new mammography workstation built on Sectra RapidConnect technology.
The new release combines ultra-fast mammography workflow with freedom to read
from remote locations while maintaining full productivity.

Sectra RapidConnect, a core component in Sectra PACS, is a patent-pending
technology that allows physicians to cooperate and efficiently share the
workload at full productivity from other hospitals or from home on a global
basis, also for large volumes and poor networks.

“We have used Sectra PACS for several years and a year ago we upgraded to the
latest generation. It enables effective centralized reading and facilitates
workload sharing among our imaging centers. This allows us to optimize
utilization of radiology resources and competencies,” says Dr Fiocconi at SCM
Centre Melunais d'Imagerie Médicale.

“We are very pleased that all the benefits that our customers derive from our
next-generation PACS and RapidConnect can now also be offered for mammography,”
says Maria Liljeqvist, Product Manager at Sectra.
