Progressive Insulation Systems Selected by Tresor Properties to Achieve Platinum in LEED Project

U.S. Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Registered Home is a First for California Coast

CHATSWORTH, Calif., Feb. 16, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Chatsworth based Progressive Insulation has been selected by Tresor Properties as the insulation company of choice for installing an advanced energy efficient insulation and air-seal system from Knauf Insulation for their Laguna Beach LEED Platinum Project. Progressive brings 30 years of experience to the project, and a team of installers, including America's Best Insulation Installer of 2009-2010, Miguel Martinez, winner of Insulate America's national competition last fall.

Tresor Properties is building the first home project on the California coastline registered with U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED at the Platinum level. In addition to their anticipated receipt of USGBC's highest LEED designation, the homes also are planned to exceed California's current strict Title 24 requirements for energy efficient building performance by more than 58 percent. The high efficiency will be aided by Progressive's commitment to "properly installed" insulation, using Knauf on this project.

Knauf Insulation manufactures an eco-friendly product that is made of 50% recycled glass and sand and has a patented Ecose Technology binder. Knauf is Greenguard Certified and a member of the U.S. Green Building Council.

The two luxury homes are located at 990 and 992 Ocean Front, in the heart of Laguna Beach's sought-after "Village" district, with a beautiful view of the coastline extending to Catalina Island. The project was designed by prominent Laguna Beach architect Mark Singer, known for creating homes inspired by nature. Encompassing 3,650 and 4,500 square feet of beachfront living, the homes will feature oceanfront terraces, private beach access, pools, spas, elevators, three-car garages and state-of-the-art home automation technology. Estimated completion is mid-2010. Both residences are offered for sale by Surterre Properties.
