NCC to construct CHP plant in Helsingborg for SEK 330 million

NCC Construction Sweden has been commissioned to build a combined
heating power plant on the outskirts of Helsingborg. The client is the
municipal company, Öresundskraft, and the project will be implemented on
a partnering basis. NCC's order value is approximately SEK 330 million. 

The new CHP plant, named Filbornaverket, will be a climate-smart waste
incinerator that will generate both district heat and electricity. 
The construction of Filbornaverket will commence mid-June and the plant
is scheduled to be in operation in December 2012. NCC's assignment
includes all construction and land work, as well as access roads.  
When choosing a contractor, Öresundskraft focused on four criteria.
Price and experience, in addition to proposed organization and
partnering structure. Partnering is a structured form of cooperation
whereby developers, consultants and contractors jointly solve
construction assignments. The methods are based on transparent and
honest cooperation allowing various areas of expertise to complement
each other throughout the construction process.
NCC has previously constructed CHP plants in districts including Malmö,
Kalmar, Linköping and Gothenburg.
NCC will employ an average of 70-80 people in the project including
subcontractors.
 The order will be registered in the second quarter of 2010.
