IT - Colocation Services and Price List Updates (142/11)

Introduction of the Nasdaq OMX Carrier Demarc (NCD)

Nasdaq OMX is constantly seeking ways to make our delivery processes more efficient and further improve our customers’ and partners’ experience for service enablement. To this end, Nasdaq OMX will be instituting a change at our Lunda data center that will improve how telco circuits are delivered to our colocation area.

  1. What is the change?

Nasdaq OMX will be establishing a point of presence for all of our connectivity partners - traditional telco carriers and extranet providers (Vendors). This point of presence in the Lunda data center is referred to as the Nasdaq OMX Carrier Demarc (NCD). All Vendors currently providing connectivity services for Nasdaq OMX Nordic [1] or Nasdaq OMX Nordic colocation customers, with the exception of those providing only extranet services, will be asked to colocate their network connectivity equipment in the NCD.

Nasdaq OMX Nordic colocation customers that have cross-connects to Vendors within the Nasdaq OMX colocation area or the Verizon general space will be required to migrate their cross-connects to the NCD as the respective Vendors relocate to the NCD. In addition, to maintain our current cross-connect policy, any cross-connects from the Nasdaq OMX colocation area to the Verizon general space not being used for Vendor (as defined above) access, will be terminated.

  1. How do Vendors and colocation customers benefit?
  • Vendors will use Nasdaq OMX as the single point of contact for extension of their circuit into the Nasdaq OMX colocation area.
  • Quicker delivery of cross-connects between the Vendor’s equipment and the Nasdaq OMX colocation area.
  • Nasdaq OMX will serve as the single point of contact for ongoing support as well as escalation of any issues. Relationship will include support of all commercial and technical arrangements including but not limited to, contracts, service orders, and provisioning

  1. What do current colocation customers need to do?
  • Identify and review with Nasdaq OMX and their respective vendors a migration plan for their existing cross-connects
  • Move their current cross connects connectivity to the new NCD.

  1. What is the timeline of this change?
  • All Vendor network equipment installations in the NCD will be completed by 30th of October, 2011. All NASDAQ OMX Nordic customer connection migrations to the NCD must be completed by 30th of November, 2011.

Nasdaq OMX will support you in migration steps. A representative from our Engineering team will be in touch with you to begin discussing this initiative.
