Sydbank participated in the 2011 EU-wide stress test conducted by the European Banking Authority (EBA) in cooperation with national authorities, the European Central Bank (ECB), the European Commission and the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB). Danmarks Nationalbank and the Danish FSA participated as the national authorities from Denmark.
In continuation of the stress test, which was published in July 2011, Sydbank has reported updated information concerning government exposures and capital position to the EBA.
Compared to the stress test published in July 2011, the EBA has raised the minimum requirement for the Core Tier 1 capital ratio from 5.0% to 9.0%.
Sydbank's Core Tier 1 capital ratio measured by the EBA constitutes 12.2%, equal to 3.2 percentage points above the minimum requirement. These are preliminary and indicative ratios, which will be updated on the basis of data as of 30 September 2011.
Sydbank does not require increased capitalisation to meet the fixed minimum requirement of 9.0%.
