HBC - Signed distribution agreement for China

Hofseth BioCare ASA (HBC) has entered an agreement with Novosana, giving the Chinese company exclusive rights to distribute HBC's products to the dietary supplement and human nutrition market in China.

- China represents a rapid growing market and a great opportunity for HBC. Novosana, with its capillary distribution and knowledge in the local Chinese market, combined with support of the HBC team's commitment to science-based ingredients with its range of omega-3 oil, protein and calcium ingredients, represents a perfect match to take advantage of this developing market. We have very ambitious sales target for this region with a combined sales volume to human nutrition by 2014 of more than 900 metric tons, says CEO Sjur Jenssen at HBC.

Hofseth BioCare applies a unique method for processing marine biomass in a low-temperature, enzyme-driven process. This approach yields ingredients such as salmon oil, Isolates Protein and calcium that are fresh, pure and sustainable.

- Novosana has been watching the development of unique marine ingredients and innovative sources of protein for many years, and this is the best ingredient opportunity we have seen, which effectively deliver a point of difference to this category and marketplace. We look forward to building sales of Hofseth's proprietary ingredients in the Chinese market, says, Jan Willem Ypma, General Manager at Novosana.

Novosana is already exclusive agent for several European and US manufacturers for natural ingredients for personal and health care.
