SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, Calif., March 22, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- After fellow candidate Adrin Nazarian announced the opening of his campaign office in the 39th Assembly District over 1.3 miles outside the boundaries of the new 46th Assembly District, Brian Johnson extended an open invitation to take Nazarian on a tour of Valley landmarks and attractions located in the valley district.
"Adrin only recently moved into the 46th District a few months ago, so maybe he just didn't know exactly where the district boundaries are," said Johnson. "He spends most of his time downtown at Los Angeles City Hall, so I thought I'd give him the chance to see what he's been missing."
"This area has a rich history and strong communities. We could tour the Campo de Cahuenga which is considered the birthplace of California as we know it, or we could visit the David Familian Chapel of Temple Adat Ari El, the first structure built as a synagogue in the San Fernando Valley."
Johnson continued, "Or if Adrin isn't excited by the Valley's rich history, we could see the shark at Universal, support some local businesses along Ventura, shop at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, see the Wattles Mansion, swing by the Plaza del Valle in Panorama City, or visit the hard working teachers and students at CHAMPS High School."
46th Assembly district resident Keith Dell'Aquila approved of the invitation saying, "I think it's a great idea. If someone wants to represent our neighborhoods and communities in the legislature, that person should at least have his campaign headquarters in the district, as well as know where the district is and what we have to offer. Putting your campaign office outside the district doesn't send a very good message or suggest that you care about the people actually living and working here. It might be a long drive for him to get to the district, but I think he should do it."
The 46th Assembly District includes the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Sherman Oaks, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Valley Village, Valley Glen, Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Panorama City, North Hills, Lake Balboa and the Hollywood Hills.
