APPOINTMENTS WITHIN REXEL'S EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Rexel announced today the appointment of Peter Hakanson as Group Senior Vice President Operations, effective July 1, 2012. Peter Hakanson will be in charge of IT, Supply Chain Management, CRM and E-Commerce, quality improvement projects and operational excellence programs across the Group. In this new role, he will become a member of Rexel's Executive Committee, reporting directly to Rudy Provoost, Chairman of the Management Board.
Presently Chief Supply Officer of Philips Lighting, Peter Hakanson brings to Rexel a wealth of expertise in supply chain management, process implementation and quality programs. During his career, he has been in charge of a wide variety of business improvement and transformation projects.
Pascal Martin, currently in charge of the overall Rexel Group Business Development and Corporate Operations organization, will become Group Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Business Portfolio Management and New Business Development. In this position, he will be in charge of the Group's strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, international clients and new business development, supplier relationship management, marketing, special growth and innovation initiatives. Pascal Martin will continue to be member of the Executive Committee, as well as the Management Board, reporting to Rudy Provoost, Chairman of the Management Board.
Biographies
Peter Hakanson is presently Chief Supply Officer of Philips Lighting. He joined Philips in 2004 as VP Global Quality for Consumer Electronics, then moved to Philips Consumer Lifestyle as VP Quality, Six Sigma and Sustainability. In 2008 he was promoted to SVP Head of Supply chain and Quality of Philips Lighting, before moving in December 2009 to his present position.
Peter started his professional career in Volvo Truck in Industrial and Quality management. He was part of the Swedish Delegation to the European Union from 1992 to 1994 and then worked from 1994 to 2004 for General Electric Medical Systems (now GE Healthcare) in various leadership roles in Sourcing, Pricing and Margin Management, and Six Sigma initiatives, based in Paris, Milwaukee and Tokyo.
A Swedish national, Peter holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Linkoping Institute of Technology in Sweden and a Master in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley - USA.
Pascal Martin is presently member of Management Board, Group Senior Vice President Business Development and Corporate Operations. Pascal Martin started his career in 1981 with Renault France where he held several positions in the fields of production and technical services. In 1991, he joined Steelcase S.A. International to become simultaneously Chief of Group Operations (1992-2000) and Group Human Resources Director (1993-1999), then CEO of Steelcase Strafor France and President of Steelcase International (1999-2000). He was appointed CEO of Guilbert France in 2001 and Management Board Chairman of Guilbert Group (PPR Group) in 2002. He joined Rexel in 2003 as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Operations. Since February 2007, Pascal Martin has been a member of the Management Board of Rexel S.A. and Group Senior Vice President, Business Development and Corporate Operations of the Rexel Group. Early 2011, he also took the responsibility of Latin America operations. Mr. Martin holds an engineering degree from ENSAM and is a graduate of ICG.
