Nanogate opens up new business unit with Nglaze Security

Sales potential in the double-digit million range - expanded range of
applications for established Glazing technology - plastic panes meet strict
requirements for increased safety and replace glass

Göttelborn, Germany, 11 June 2015. Nanogate AG, a leading international
integrated systems provider for high-performance surfaces, is opening up
the safety engineering business field as part of its growth strategy. This
is based on multifunctional, highly transparent and fracture-resistant
plastic glazing already being successfully supplied in reference
applications under the Nglaze umbrella brand. The sales potential for the
new product line is in the double-digit million range.

Ralf Zastrau, CEO of Nanogate AG, commented: "Nanogate brings together
excellent visibility and the highest level of safety. The worldwide market
for applications in personal protection is booming. Protective devices with
the highest level of fracture-resistance and perfect optical quality are in
greater demand in many applications. For reference projects in forestry,
for example, Nanogate is already supplying the first extremely
fracture-resistant panes that have been multifunctionally enhanced.
Following successful market tests and the investment already made in
developing expanded specialist areas, official vehicles - for example buses
made by German manufacturers - will be equipped with panes optimised for
safety. In the medium term, Nanogate expects sales potential in the
double-digit million range." Even in Nanogate's target market of
buildings/interiors, or in various industrial applications, the company
expects significant demand. Applications range from agricultural and
forestry through various industrial applications to all kinds of work
devices and vehicles. The aim is to ensure comprehensive personal safety in
dangerous situations or in extreme weather conditions.

Safety applications as additional target market
Nanogate sells multifunctional plastic components with glass-like
properties under the Nglaze brand. Numerous car manufacturers in the luxury
segment rely on the technology and the components produced by Nanogate.
Following the successful start in reference production in special forestry
vehicles, the Group is now opening up a new field of application with
Nglaze Security. Nglaze Security replaces traditional solutions and is
significantly lighter than glass. The plastic panes developed by Nanogate
meet all high-level safety requirements whilst also offering excellent
optical quality. They are impact-resistant, fracture-resistant and
shatterproof, offering vehicle passengers for example protection against
damage caused by vandalism, for example. Functions such as Easy-to-Clean,
UV-protection, chemical-resistance, paint or flame retardancy can be
integrated, and they can be realised in many different geometries (2D/3D).
