IVISYS and Scape Technologies to present jointly developed product at Elmia Subcontractor 2015

IVISYS AB and Scape Technologies will present a jointly developed integrated
solution at the Elmia Subcontractor trade fair in Sweden in November 2015. The
companies have developed a robotic bin picker, which is capable of transferring
a randomly placed object from point A to B, while concurrently inspecting if the
object has been correctly assembled.

After IVISYS and Scape Technologies in August announced that the two companies
had entered into a mutual referral partnership, the companies commenced on
exploring if the two parties could develop a joint solution integrating both of
the companies’ products.

The efforts quickly proved worthwhile and at the upcoming Elmia Subcontractor
2015 trade fair held in Jönköping in November, the two Scandinavian automation
companies will present a brand new integrated solution to the public for the
first time. The product, IVISYS Robo Inspect, is an integration of Scape
Technologies’ UR5 bin picker and an IVISYS’ Pro V combined software and hardware
unit

CTO of IVISYS Moatasem Chehaiber comments: “After initiating our talks about how
we could approach the market with joint solutions, we quickly came up to the
conclusion that the best way would be to offer an integrated product, which is
applicable in a wide range of situations concerning factory automation. An
obvious starting point was to focus on two applications: One is traditional bin
picking, transferring randomly placed objects from a box in order to position
them on a conveyor. The other is to verify whether the objects meet the relevant
specifications, so no flawed objects enter the production process. Our new joint
solution address both of these needs,” says Moatasem Chehaiber.

The joint development of IVISYS Robo Inspect has taken less than one month and
the two companies are now collaborating on how to use the newly developed
solution as a stepping stone to increase sales of both parties.
