Percona and Coroot Partner to Bring Full-Stack Observability to Open Source Database Environments

Coroot Percona Edition combines visibility across applications, infrastructure, networks, and databases, automatically identifying the root cause of an issue and pointing teams to the fix, backed by Percona’s world-class database expertise and support

AMSTERDAM, Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Percona, a provider of open source database software, support, and services, today announced a partnership with Coroot, an open source observability company, to bring Coroot Percona Edition to Percona customers.

As organizations adopt distributed, cloud-native, and Kubernetes-based infrastructure, identifying the cause of an application slowdown or outage often requires following signals across multiple layers of the technology stack. Database teams are increasingly troubleshooting issues that originate outside the database itself, creating a need for broader observability without sacrificing the deep database insight they already rely on.

Coroot Percona Edition complements Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM), which gives database teams deep visibility into database health, queries, replication, and other engine-specific internals. Coroot extends that visibility across the applications, networks, and infrastructure surrounding those databases, giving teams a broader view alongside PMM’s database-level insight. Rather than surfacing another set of metrics to interpret, Coroot automatically traces an issue across that stack to its root cause, and for database-related findings, can route teams directly into a Percona Support case, shortening the path from detection to fix.

“The database is at the center of critical applications, but it does not operate in isolation,” said Peter Farkas, CEO of Percona. “Our customers need to understand what is happening both inside the database and across everything that depends on it. By combining Coroot’s broader observability capabilities with Percona’s database expertise and support, we can give teams a more complete picture of their environments, not just a symptom, but the root cause behind it, and help them get from identifying a problem to resolving it faster.”

Coroot Percona Edition provides visibility across the technology stack to help organizations understand dependencies and investigate incidents. Key capabilities include:

  • Automatic full-stack telemetry: Correlates signals across applications, networks, infrastructure, and databases, helping teams see how issues in one part of the environment affect another.
  • AI-powered root-cause analysis: Automatically analyzes telemetry to identify likely causes of incidents and provide supporting evidence, reducing the manual work required to connect signals across multiple systems.
  • Cloud-native observability: Designed for Kubernetes and other dynamic environments, maintaining visibility as services scale, infrastructure changes, and nodes move or disappear.
  • Greater deployment control: Supports self-hosted and fully air-gapped deployments, allowing organizations to keep observability data within infrastructure they control.
  • Percona expertise and integration: Combines Coroot’s broader observability capabilities with Percona’s database experience supporting open source databases and the environments they run in.

This partnership will also support the development of deeper alignment designed specifically for Percona customers, including integrations with Percona Support, PMM, Percona Operators, OpenEverest, and Percona’s database knowledge base.

“Coroot was built to help engineering teams understand how complex systems behave as a whole,” said Nikolay Sivko, CEO at Coroot. “By partnering with Percona, we can bring that broad visibility together with deep database expertise, helping customers connect what is happening across their applications and infrastructure back to the databases those systems depend on.”

About Percona
Percona is an open source database software, support, and services company with a simple belief: organizations should have full control over their data infrastructure, without lock-in, without compromise, and without paying a vendor for the privilege of leaving. For 20 years, Percona has helped businesses run databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Valkey, and Redis securely, performantly, and on their own terms — through freely available open source software, 24/7 expert support, and hands-on database expertise. The way is open. For more information, visit www.percona.com.

About Coroot
Coroot is an open source observability platform focused on AI-powered Root Cause Analysis. It automatically collects and correlates metrics, logs, traces, and profiles, then analyzes service dependencies and system behavior to identify the root cause of production incidents and explain what went wrong. Coroot requires no code changes and works across Kubernetes, virtual machines, and bare-metal environments. The project has gained strong open source traction and is used by engineering teams around the world. Coroot is available as Apache 2.0-licensed open source software and as Coroot Enterprise Edition with AI RCA and enterprise capabilities. For more information, visit coroot.com.
