BEIJING, Sept. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) closed in Beijing on September 13. The Fair achieved over 1,200 outcomes across seven categories, held 200 forums, conferences, and matchmaking events, and attracted more than 1,830 enterprises for on-site exhibition and over 5,300 enterprises for online exhibition. "China Services" became a shining calling card, and the Go-Global Services Promotion Roadshow Area exceeded expectations.

Zhu Guangyao, Second-Level Inspector of the Department of Trade in Services and Commercial Services of the Ministry of Commerce, said that the Fair brought together 90 countries, regions, and international organisations for exhibitions and events, with innovative technologies, products, and services in multiple fields making their debuts. A number of authoritative reports were released at the Fair, sharing cutting-edge research findings, analysing the latest development trends, and promoting international exchanges and cooperation.

Lu Huiling, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, said that the Fair achieved fruitful results in multiple areas, with 103 enterprises and institutions releasing 233 outcomes. The delegation of Guest Country of Honor Norway signed six cooperation agreements with Chinese enterprises and institutions, and the "Invest in Beijing" Thematic Promotion Conference saw the on-site signing of 36 key projects covering 12 industrial fields including technological innovation, intelligent manufacturing, and modern services. At the same time, "Space Expansion + Event Innovation" expanded the Fair's impact, with 81 supporting events organised and linked to the "Two Parks and One River" waterfront space, along with 44 events held in key commercial districts in Beijing and 13 inspection routes, carrying out professional economic and trade exchanges and public cultural experience activities across the city.

Zhu Guangyao said that in the next step, efforts will be made to empower trade in services with digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing, accelerate the cultivation and development of new business forms and models such as digital services, actively expand the export of producer services, and stimulate the export potential of consumer services. China will continue to deepen international cooperation in trade in services, strengthen alignment with the development strategies and cooperation initiatives of various countries, and use important exhibition platforms such as CIFTIS as a link to promote mutual benefit, win-win results, and common development. China will also improve the negative list management system for cross-border trade in services and accelerate the building of the National Demonstration Zone for Innovative Development of Trade in Services.

From September 9 to 13, the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services was held at Shougang Park in Beijing.
