LOS ANGELES, Nov. 12, 1998 (PRIMEZONE) -- Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: OXY) announced today that its board of directors has elected James R. Havert as vice president and treasurer, succeeding David C. Yen.
Havert, 56, began his career with Occidental in 1966 as a financial analyst and served in a series of increasingly responsible positions, most recently as senior assistant treasurer. Previously, he served as an auditor with Price Waterhouse & Co.
He holds a degree in business administration from the University of California at Los Angeles. -0-
