CFM Receives 1999 Top Supplier Award From SEMICONDUCTOR300

EXTON, Penn., April 19, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- CFM Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:CFMT), a leading manufacturer of advanced wet processing equipment for semiconductor manufacturing, today announced that it has been chosen as a "Top Supplier" by SEMICONDUCTOR300, the joint venture between Infineon Technologies and Motorola. CFM was one of only six suppliers selected for providing outstanding service and support as well as excellent process results.

"Our successful collaboration with the SEMICONDUCTOR300 team over the past two years has enabled CFM to bring to market a fully production-capable 300mm tool with a demonstrated record of performance," commented Roger A. Carolin, CFM's President and Chief Executive Officer. "As the industry ramps up its investments in 300mm, this award validates CFM's commitment to and work on this developing technology and recognizes the high quality of our product."

The 300mm OMNI(tm) tool utilizes CFM's unique, patented Full-Flow(tm) technology and is based on the Company's successful 200mm platform. By leveraging its 200mm design, CFM successfully achieved its goals of maximizing early 300mm equipment maturity and overall production-worthiness while minimizing technical risk and time-to-market. CFM completed its development program in 1998 and can demonstrate its 300mm tool performance in its recently expanded Applications Laboratory in West Chester, PA.

The discussion above regarding the Company's expectation of future sales and backlog and order activity includes certain forward-looking statements on these subjects. As such, actual results may vary materially from such expectations. Factors which could cause actual results to differ from expectations include variations in the level of orders, which can be affected by general economic conditions including the current economic and financial conditions in Asia; the timing of the recovery in the semiconductor industry, difficulties or delays in product functionality or performance, the timing of future product releases, failure to respond adequately to either changes in technology or customer preferences, or failure to realize a successful outcome to pending patent litigation.

CFM Technologies, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of advanced cleaning equipment for the semiconductor industry. Its systems provide superior contamination control and processing capabilities using a totally enclosed processing chamber. Watermarks and other drying defects are eliminated through CFM's Direct-Displace(tm) IPA vapor drying technology. CFM historically has invested in technical innovations to lower cost of ownership.
