Iomega Quik Sync 2 Software Now Available

Innovative Software Offers New, Easy, Breakthrough Security For Enterprise Accounts And Consumers And Allows Users To Keep Important Files Safe - Automatically

NEW YORK, June 27, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM), a global leader in data management solutions, announced today the availability of Iomega Quik Sync 2 software, the next generation of the company's popular software that effortlessly keeps users' important files safe - automatically. Affordable and easy-to-use, Quik Sync 2 automatically saves designated files from both local and network drives to a Zip(R), Jaz(R), Clik!(TM) or ZipCD(TM) drive, protecting them from viruses, computer crashes and other data threats. Quik Sync 2 helps enterprise accounts and general consumers protect important data and eases the hassle of creating a backup of their files.

Iomega's Quik Sync 2 software is available today for purchase at www.iomegadirect.com, for an estimated street price of $19.95 (U.S.). It will also be available at retailers and distributors in the fourth quarter of 2000. Quik Sync 2 is available in both PC and Mac versions and is compatible with Windows(R) 95, 98, 2000 and NT(R) 4.x and with Mac(R) OS 8.1 to 9.x.

With Iomega's Quik Sync 2 software, all users have to do is select the folders on their hard drive or network drives that they want it to monitor. Every time users save a file to one of these folders, Quik Sync 2 automatically makes a copy of that file to an Iomega Zip(R), Jaz(R), Clik!(TM) or ZipCD(TM) drive.

"We believe Iomega Quik Sync 2 software will be a hit with consumers," said Germaine Ward, vice president of software solutions, Iomega Corporation. "The launch of our new Quik Sync 2 represents a new commercial software product developed by Iomega. In the months ahead, we plan to expand our software offerings in the areas of saving, organizing, managing, and protecting digital content."

Iomega Quik Sync 2 software offers a dramatic improvement in features and benefits from the original version, first introduced in 1999, including:

  -- Easy To Use - A setup "wizard" leads users through the initial
     setup process. Once configured, a user is not required to
     interact with Iomega Quik Sync 2 software again, until they've
     filled an entire Iomega disk with stored files or need to restore
     a file;

  -- Automatic/Transparent Copy - Any files saved to the designated
     folders are automatically and transparently copied to the backup
     disk;

  -- Multiple Folders (NEW) - Users can select multiple folders from
     either their hard drive or network volumes;

  -- Network Folders (NEW) - Users can choose to automatically save
     copies of files that are stored on network volumes to their
     backup disk;

  -- User-Controlled Preferences (NEW) - Although Iomega Quik Sync 2
     software automatically prompts the user's set up, it also allows
     for scheduled backup times and other user preferences;

  -- Multiple File Revisions (NEW) - Users can select the number of
     revisions of files to keep;

  -- File Filtering (NEW) - Users can exclude specific file types such
     as temporary files from being monitored by Iomega Quik Sync 2
     software;

  -- Easy File Recovery - If something goes wrong, users simply access
     their backup disk and drag the files to the preferred location on
     their desktop, no decompression required;

  -- Portability - Users can easily take files on the road by simply
     taking their backup disk with them.
