On Command Announces Largest In-Room Wireless Installation in U.S. Hotels

DENVER, August 9, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- On Command Corporation (Nasdaq:ONCO) announced today completion of the largest in-room wireless installation in American hotels. On Command's installation of its @Hotel(SM) suite now provides Internet access through the television as well as laptop connectivity at speeds up to 50 times faster than modems in 1,825 rooms at the Adam's Mark Hotel - Dallas.

On Command's @Hotel suite is a full-services Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the hospitality industry that integrates connectivity, content and services into a complete seamless solution. Its plug and play design simplifies use, so guests do not need to reconfigure their PC. Through On Command, the Adam's Mark Hotel - Dallas will have access to the customized STS Hotel Net Internet portal, combining the convenience of television with the power of the Internet. This proprietary application, expected to be deployed in 2001, will provide guests with access to virtual tours of local restaurants and happenings, business communication services, streaming video and audio, specific hotel services and online shopping. In addition, On Command has supplied a complete turnkey solution for providing wireless Internet connectivity to hotel meeting rooms, which allows meeting room attendees the ability to freely roam about the room with high-speed Internet connectivity.

"On Command is providing Adam's Mark Hotel - Dallas guests with the most advanced capabilities in Internet and entertainment services," said Doug Jensen, CFO of Adam's Mark Hotels and Resorts. "Our guests expect the very best in-room experience available and On Command delivers a complete turnkey solution for our hotel."

"The Adam's Mark Hotel - Dallas installation is the largest single installation of Internet connectivity in U.S. hotels, and On Command is maintaining its position as the market leader, with over 82,000 hotel rooms with Internet access," said Jerome H. Kern, Chairman and CEO of On Command. "In fact, Jupiter Communications, the worldwide authority on Internet commerce, estimated that half of U.S. hotel rooms would be wired for Internet access by 2002. We intend to provide most of those hotels with the full package of On Command's Internet services."
