Logicon Wins Eight-Year, $114 Million U.S. Army Europe Training Task Order

HERNDON, Va., Sept. 14, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Logicon Inc., a Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) company, has received an eight-year, $114 million task order to provide continued support of battle simulation centers for the 7th Army Training Command, Directorate of Simulations-Forward, U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR).

The USAREUR Battle Simulations task order covers training services in technical and exercise planning support. The work will be conducted at nine locations in Germany and one in Italy beginning December 2000.

Logicon has worked with USAREUR since 1987 and uses simulations to provide realistic training support for units from the platoon to the theater echelon. This work also supports the Joint Chiefs of Staff, NATO training mission rehearsals, Partnership for Peace initiatives and other European Command exercises, including mission readiness.

"The USAREUR Battle Simulations task order solidifies Logicon's leadership in the training and simulations marketplace," said Dr. Al Ferrari, vice president-Training and Systems, Logicon. "Our development work on the Corps Battle Simulation and Warfighter's Simulation provides strong technical credentials that support emerging requirements in the digital era."

Along with Logicon's Battle Command Training Program and XVIII Airborne Corps Battle Simulations contracts, the latest task order enables Logicon to provide the U.S. Army with comprehensive training support covering the full spectrum of contingency requirements.

The USAREUR task order was awarded under the General Services Administration's ANSWER program. ANSWER is a multiple award, indefinite delivery/indfinite quantity contract vehicle to provide information technology and related services to Federal government agencies.
