Allied Research Reports an Important Commercial Electronic Security Order from The VSK Group

VIENNA, Va., Nov. 21, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Allied Research Corporation (AMEX:ALR) said today that its Belgian-based commercial electronic security firm, The VSK Group, had received what it considered to be an important and initial contract from United Pan-Europe Communications N.V., (Nasdaq:UPCOY), a consolidated subsidiary of United Global Com, Inc., (Nasdaq:UCOMA).

The first order of approximately $250,000 calls for The VSK Group to provide its proprietary FOXnet security system to protect United Pan-Europe Communications' numerous building complexes and antenna sites.

Mr. Glenn Yarborough, President and Chief Executive Officer of Allied Research, said: "FOXnet was selected as the most advanced building network security system available. Our VSK engineers have designed and perfected a system with extensive communications capability that allows an infinite amount of multi-site locations to be completely interconnected for maximum security and efficiency. I am confident that The VSK Group will be reporting many more successes for FOXnet. We are very pleased that UPC has selected FOXnet and promise full support in meeting their expectations."

The VSK Group's FOXnet security system provides complete integration of access control and intruder detection. Allied Research said the FOXnet has been meeting or exceeding all marketing expectations.
