Unity Wireless Appoints Vice Presidents - Gets First U.S. Order

BELLEVUE, Wash., Feb. 27, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Unity Wireless Corporation (OTCBB:UTYW) has augmented its executive management team with the appointments of Mr. Raffi Antepyan - Vice President, Engineering, and Mr. David Orton - Vice President, Marketing. The Company is also pleased to announce that a substantial customer in the United States has placed an order for 3G (third generation) RF (Radio Frequency) Power Amplifiers. In addition, market expansion into Europe and Asia also continues with the Company's presence at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France.

Mr. Antepyan joins Unity Wireless with over 20 years of wireless telecommunications research and development, sales and management, and engineering experience. Recently he was Vice President and Managing Director of privately held Wavesat Telecom, which specialized in the development and manufacture of wireless components and systems including Cellular and PCS (personal communication service) amplifiers for basestation and repeater applications. In five years, Mr. Antepyan increased Wavesat's revenue by 13,836% leading Wavesat to No. 3 on Deloitte & Touche's Canadian Technology Fast 50 winners list in 2000. Mr. Antepyan has also held engineering and management positions with Northern Telecom (Nortel Networks), Wavefront Precision Technologies, Advantech Advanced Microwave Technologies Inc. and Harris Farinon Canada. Mr. Antepyan holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Montreal's Concordia University.

Bringing over 14 years of sales and marketing experience to Unity Wireless, Mr. Orton's background spans both telecommunications and high-tech industries. Recently with User Friendly Media, he was responsible for increasing the two-year-old company's sales from US$ 250,000 to over US$ 1 million in one year by expanding the company's marketing efforts throughout the United States and Europe. While at Statpower Technologies, a manufacturer of sine wave inverters, Mr. Orton's U.S. and International Division sales increased by 30% over his tenure. He was also instrumental in Glentel's successful MSAT launch in Canada contributing to their dominant market share within four years. Mr. Orton holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia.

As a result of the Company's increased research and development, production, and marketing focus, Unity Wireless Corporation received its first North American-based order for RF Power Amplifier to be used in 3G wireless networks. This customer is a global supplier of repeater network infrastructure equipment to Cellular and PCS service providers and equipment manufacturers. The order represents the first stage of an anticipated on-going supply relationship and serves as a testimony of the Company's advanced technology and capability in the North American wireless infrastructure market.

In addition to North American market development activities, Unity Wireless participated in the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France gathering valuable leads and contacts as well as receiving strong interest from several potential customers. The 3GSM World Congress is one of the wireless industry's largest annual events attracting more than 21,000 attendees last year. The Company continues to access markets where demand for RF power amplifiers remains strong by developing both customer and distribution relationships in European, Asian and North American markets.
