"Mark Lowry On Broadway" No. 1 On Billboard's Music Video Chart

NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 20, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- The "Mark Lowry On Broadway" video, which debuted at retail just one week ago (April 10), is No. 1 on Billboard's Music Video Chart in the magazine's issue dated April 28. The video was filmed during Lowry's performance at the Beacon Theatre on Broadway in New York City.

Helping spur video sales was the airing of the video on the PAX Network April 7 and The National Network on April 14.

"We never dreamed that sales would put us at the top of Billboard's video charts this quickly," said Lowry, who previously had praised Barry Jennings and Spring House Music Group for giving him the latitude to do the video the way he wanted to. "After they asked me to give them some ideas, they liked what I brought to them and we did them all," Lowry continued. "We are very excited about the acceptance the video has had with our fans."

Barry Jennings, president of Spring House Music Group, said, "Mark put a lot of time, effort and imagination into this video, and it definitely paid off. We are very happy for Mark and have really enjoyed being involved with his project."

Lowry has been a member of the Gaither Vocal Band for 13 years and is a well-known Christian comedian, performing regularly as a solo act when his schedule with the GVB allows.

Guests on the video include the Gaither Vocal Band and Sandi Patty. This is Lowry's sixth video.

"Mark Lowry On Broadway" was released by Spring House Music Group on video, DVD, CD and cassette, and is distributed by Chordant/EMI. It can be purchased in Christian bookstores and in retail stores that sell videos, including Wal-Mart. Spring House Music Group was named the No. 1 music video sales label by Billboard magazine for the year 2000.
