American Cellular Corporation Extends Expiration Date For Exchange Offer


OKLAHOMA CITY, May 31, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- American Cellular Corporation yesterday announced that it has extended the expiration date for its exchange offer for its 9 1/2% Senior Subordinated Notes due 2009 from June 12, 2001 until 5 p.m. New York City time on July 31, 2001. As of the close of business on May 29, 2001, American Cellular had received no tenders for exchange of its outstanding 9 1/2% Senior Subordinated Notes due 2009.

American Cellular Corporation is owned by a joint venture that is equally owned by Dobson Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:DCEL) and AT&T Wireless (NYSE:AWE).
