BELLEVUE, Wash., July 19, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Unity Wireless Corporation (OTCBB:UTYW), a leading provider of high performance RF power amplifiers to the wireless industry, announced at its Annual General Meeting the election of New Jersey State Senator Robert W. Singer and Mr. Robert Fetherstonhaugh to the Company's Board of Directors. In addition, the Company announced the appointment of Mr. Wiggo Smeby as a member of its Advisory Board.
Senator Singer is a New Jersey State Senator and serves as Assistant Majority Leader. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee and a member of the State Health Committee. He currently is the Chairman of the Senate's Task Force on Science and Technology. Senator Singer has received national recognition from his peers because of his understanding of technology issues, and their impact on the nation.
Mr. Fetherstonhaugh is a charted accountant in Canada, with experience in technology companies and public accounting. He currently is Executive Vice President, Investments for Montreal-based investment firm Claridge Inc. Previously as Deputy Chairman, and Corporate Secretary of Trader.com, his responsibilities included media and internet acquisitions in Canada, U.S.A., Russia and Holland, and the coordination of Russian and Chinese operations. From 1978 to 1998 he served with KPMG and became partner in charge of the High Technology Practice at KPMG Montreal.

The Company has also enhanced its Advisory Board with the addition of Wiggo Smeby. Mr. Smeby has over 25 years experience managing and consulting with high technology companies and has successfully developed high level contacts in numerous high technology industries throughout the Scandinavian countries. Presently, he is Chief Technical Officer for Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in Oslo, Norway, a leading international provider of risk-management services, employing over 5,400 employees in over 100 countries. Previously Mr. Smeby was responsible for the Company's merger and acquisition task force, including a joint venture between DNV and Ericsson. He has also held tenures with management consultants Corporate Strategy AG, the Royal Norwegian Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and the Veritas Group.
