BOEWE SYSTEC Reports Further Significant Growth in Sales and Results in the First Half of 2001; Half-Year Report


AUGSBURG, Germany, July 30, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- BOEWE SYSTEC AG (GER:BSY) (Security No. 523 970), Augsburg, the European market leader in high performance inserting systems and associated services, has reported a consistent, positive trend.

Growth in consolidated sales in the first half of 2001, at 11%, was once again above the sector average. With sales of DM 200.7 million (EUR 102.6 million) in the half-year just past, the company recorded a significant rise compared with the figure of DM 181.2 million (EUR 92.6 million) in the previous year. The Group posted a disproportionately high increase in the consolidated result compared with the growth in sales. The result of ordinary activities rose by 20 % to DM 13.7 million (EUR 7.0 million) against DM 11.4 million (EUR 5.8 million) in the previous year. The main reason for the significant improvement in the result was the sharp rise in the result recorded by the US subsidiary. The result after tax also rose by 20 % to DM 7.8 million (EUR 4.0 million) compared with DM 6.5 million (EUR 3.3 million) in the first half of 2000.
