SOLANA BEACH, Calif., Aug. 20, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- AltaVoice Communications, Inc. of Solana Beach, Calif., launched its nation-wide, automated telephone message delivery service, PAM, your Personal Automated Messenger, on Aug. 1, 2001.
According to VP of Technology, Max Gardner, PAM allows users to send messages in their own voice from any telephone or computer to any other telephone in the United States. The messages can be sent to individuals or groups and can be scheduled for immediate or future delivery.
"We are very excited," Gardner declared, "that, to the best of our knowledge, PAM is the first telephone message delivery service to allow users to record messages from their Web browser with a computer microphone, then send them securely over the Internet and out to any telephone at any time. And users can upload and manage large contact lists, view call results, and listen to messages and replies from a secure PAM Website."
Gardner explained that PAM users send appointment scheduling, reminder, follow-up, broadcast, and survey messages.
He expects that people pressed for time and businesses pressed for resources will use PAM to be more productive and enhance customer relations. When needing to reach patients, customers, or colleagues, but when time constraints prevent normal phone conversations, PAM users can send automated, but personalized, messages and have more time freed up for productive activities. And PAM messages can be used to stay in touch in between face-to-face and live telephone contacts. In addition, Gardner noted the convenience of being able to make PAM messages at any time of day or night and schedule them for future delivery.
AltaVoice offers PAM as a service starting at $9.95 per month plus 18 cents per minute of usage time. A telephone or computer with Internet connection is the only equipment required in order to use the service. No special hardware, software, or training is needed.
